Sheesham wood is also known as Indian rosewood and is a member of the Fabaceae family (Dalbeegia genus). It is also known as Japanese rosewood and is an evergreen broadleaf tree with a ring-porous, diffuse-porous wood.
Indian rosewood does not have the strong, sweet scent of real rosewood, is less susceptible to wood beetles, and has beautiful grain, making it used for high-end furniture, joinery, karakizaiku, inlay, veneer, knife handles, etc. It is especially popular in India as a wood for woodcarvings.
In particular, large pieces of wood that are to be used for furniture must be naturally dried for at least a year to prevent shrinkage, warping, cracks, and other problems after they are made into products.
The furniture is finished with oil stain and wood wax to give it a glossy finish, allowing you to enjoy the natural aging of the wood.
